Most of our engagements run long. We would rather learn one domain in depth and ship systems we would be willing to maintain ourselves.

03 / Engineering Philosophy

Build for the constraint

Systems here run under high latency and modest server budgets. They also run under the NDPA, the CBN open banking guidelines, and PCI DSS. We put consent capture, data residency, and card handling into the first architecture, because a compliance retrofit costs more than the design that avoids it.

We write code a stranger can audit. That stranger might be your next hire, your regulator, or one of us in three years with no memory of the decision.

Generating code is now the cheap part of this work. We spend our hours on the expensive part, deciding whether the code is right and proving it stays right as the system changes.

When we do applied research, we test against your real transactions and the feedback of the people who process them, rather than a benchmark that flatters the model.
